Quick
Info:

Also known as the Cassette man, Henry Emily was one of the founders of “Fazbear Entertainment”.

Additionally as he have founded “Fred Bear’s Family Diner”, along with also being one of creators of the original animatronics, Henry Emily serves as a more righteous, humane reflection of his old friend.

He is mentioned within the novels, Graphic novels, and games, and takes the role of an avenger.

Henry is shown to be very soft-spoken and stern, playing a critical role when seeking revenge for the victims of Afton and the liberation of the trapped souls. He greatly regrets trusting his best friend and business partner, William Afton, as doing so unknowingly allowed him to kill a dozen innocent children without mercy. These same souls came to inhabit the animatronics and haunt the pizzeria.

Of the first of Afton’s victims, was his own daughter, Charlotte Emily.

Decades later, Henry devoted himself to luring Afton, whom haunted the Spring Bonnie Suit and the remaining animatronics to one place, in order to destroy them and set their souls free once and for all.

  • William Afton/Dave Miller (right & middle) and Henry Emily (left)

Having several aliases as Dave Miller, the Purple Man, Steve Raglan, etc., William Afton was the second founder of “Fazbear Entertainment” and the founder of “Afton Robotics, LLC.”

As well as being a co-owner of “Fred Bear’s Family Diner” along with also being one of Creators of the Original animatronics as seen in “Freddy’s Fazbear Pizza”, William is a cruel and sadistic man in comparison to his partner and best friend, Henry Emily. He is shown to be very proud of his creations and is a man of opportunity, taking chances even if the risks are high if it means it will benefit him.

His sadistic nature and ambition results in a notorious serial killer in the 1980s, with his murders never being tied back to him for decades until his death.

William is the catalyst point throughout the franchise and a key figure in how the chain of events that the players experience begin. It goes back much further than the first game.

It is believed the motive for him murdering countless children over the years was to gain the secret to immortality. However, the books seem to suggest something more twisted. When he realizes in The Silver Eyes that the children’s souls haunt his creations, he sees it as, “a party that never ends.” Nonetheless, Afton is terrified of his own death, as seen in the Five Nights at Freddy’s 3 minigames, where he explains why he became Springtrap in the first place.

Regardless, this greed and malicious want for power knew no bounds, going even as far as killing the child of his own best friend.

William Afton in The Fourth Closet novel neglecting his daughter, Elizabeth.

As luck would have it, in Sister Location, William’s own daughter Elizabeth Afton would die at the hands of his own creation, Circus Baby. He, however, was aware of what the animatronic was capable of, it was only a matter of when and how such a tragedy would occur.

This incident would come a few years after the death of his youngest son, Evans Afton (or better known as the Crying Child), whom died from getting his head smashed between Fredbear’s jaws at Fred Bear’s Family Diner.

This event would be known as the Bite of ‘83 and serve as an important and life-altering event for Michael Afton, William’s eldest son, who played a part in his brother’s death.

William Afton has a ferocious tenacity to haunt the player and remind the world he will not go so easily.

His first appearance is not when he was alive, but rather how he is after the first game, Five Nights and Freddy’s I – 30 years after he was tragically lacerated in a springlock suit.

He appears as the animatronic, Springtrap, a withered and rotting suit of the former Spring Bonnie.

He transitioned into the animatronic “Springtrap” following a spring-lock incident resulting in his death. Despite his brutal wounds, William Afton managed to somehow fuse with the Springtrap suit and live for several decades longer than intended. However, he still is rotting inside the suit.

This is a reflection of his greatest fear: death. This fear is quite immense to the point that he has developed an unbreakable iron will to live, no matter the circumstances, hence his bond and fusion to the Springtrap suit.

Though in the movies his death varies, the commonality between the movie and games is his physical body faces the consequences to his actions. The souls of the children he murdered corner him in the end and he is springlocked to death – or so the tale goes.
